LNDg v1.9.0 Released: New Features and Improvements for Efficient LND Management

The latest release of LNDg, v1.9.0, introduces several new features and fixes to improve the user experience and overall performance of this lightweight GUI for managing Lightning Network Daemon (LND) data. Released by @cryptosharks131, this update enhances automation and control for Bitcoin node operators, providing better tools for rebalancing and maintenance tasks.

Key New Features:

  1. Inbound Fee Management:

    • Users can now set inbound fees directly from the /advanced page. Notably, only negative values are allowed, offering greater control over fee adjustments for incoming payments.

    • Inbound fees are also displayed next to successful forwards when LNDg detects that the inbound fee was applied, making it easier to track fee usage.

  2. Enhanced Logging:

    • Log management is unified between Docker and manual installers, simplifying troubleshooting across different installation methods.

  3. MPP Rebalance Control:

    • A new setting, LND-DisableMPP, has been added. This option allows users to force rebalances to avoid using Multi-Path Payments (MPP), providing more flexibility for handling liquidity. The setting can be adjusted via the /api/settings/ endpoint.

  4. UI Improvements:

    • Dashboard Auto-Refresh Control: The dashboard now automatically stops refreshing when the user hovers over an item, preventing unwanted data refresh while reviewing information.

    • A UTXO Consolidation button has been added, making it easier for users to consolidate their Bitcoin UTXOs.

  5. Enhanced Forwarding Information:

    • LNDg now displays the attempted parts-per-million (ppm) fee when an HTLC (Hash Time-Locked Contract) failure is due to insufficient fees, aiding in diagnosing payment issues.

    • Inbound flows are now written in green text, providing visual cues for incoming liquidity.

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Resolved an issue where the maximum fee rate could be ignored during operations, ensuring fee rates are correctly respected.

  • Various other improvements and bug fixes have been applied, further stabilizing and refining LNDg's performance.
