The fight for freedom: A conversation with Tony from The Bitcoin Way on resistance and sovereignty
Imagine waking up one day to find your entire life savings wiped out by those who are supposed to protect it. This is the harsh reality Tony faced, sparking his journey into the world of Bitcoin and self-sovereignty.
If you’re Tony, you gather a team and start spreading knowledge about decentralized money, to save others from experiencing the uncertainties of the fiat system.
“I co-founded The Bitcoin Way based on the horrible life situation that I went through where my entire life savings were completely stolen from me a few years ago. And when you go through something like this, you want to make sure that it never happens again. And so this is what led me down the rabbit hole and eventually to what I consider the eighth wonder of the world, Bitcoin.”
Unlearning the lies and the real NWO
The beautiful thing about falling down the rabbit hole, is the opportunity to unlearn the lies that we all have been told about money (and basically everything).
“The more you learn about Bitcoin, the more do you realize that everything you've been told and taught your entire life was a fabrication, is a complete lie. Starting with the education system, more importantly with the money, how the whole concept of money is put together. It's one giant s scam, it's ah It's a Ponzi from day one that you were led to believe that that's just the way the world works. You're supposed to work you know like a little hamster and give your money to corrupt thieves who believe they have the right to own you. And so that mould is being shattered right now, but it's being shattered by those that are finally paying attention to it.”
So instead of working like a little rat in the Babylon-wheel like the majority of the global population, trying to change the system from within - we need to build something completely new. Finally, we’re conscious enough, as a little collective, to take the next steps and create OUR new world order. But how, when we’re living in 1984 on steroids?
Survival of the fittest.
“When that calamity affected my life, and in a way, I died. But when that happens, I was free. And so right now, nothing fazes me anymore. Right now, my purpose has been completely redefined, completely repurposed, like the man I was before no longer exists. This is a brand-new version, a much more, um I'd say, upgraded version, a much more laser focused and determined human being that is not going to back down no matter what happens. It's either we go to the finish line or we die trying.”
Tony’s day to day is now education people with his background of over 25 years in cybersecurity and encryption, and through this building a real alternative to the system, that was designed to steal, censor and control. We see countries and economies falling apart, and of course this is a scary thing, because now we have to think about self-sovereign lifestyle, food and water security - a wonderful new start to whatever rocks our future boat.
“Now and the pain is real, which is why more folks are starting to rise and push back against this in order to find an alternative to protect themselves and their loved ones. And so no one should be fearful. If you value your freedom and your survival and that of your kids, it is your obligation as a human being to make sure that no one silences you. And if they try, you destroy them. That's my philosophy.”
We’re up against a massive organization with almost limitless resources, but Tony thinks, although the odds are not on our side, the numbers are! “So the more people that understand what we're up against and take the right measures to vote with their time and energy, to opt out of the corrupt legacy system and into something like Bitcoin. That's how we cement the win. But that takes time.”
And here, decentralization might help! We now have decentralized money, and decentralized media like Nostr - that means 8 billion people theoretically have access to censorship free media - debunking the lies.
So what we really need to drive change is to stop asking for permission, because no one is coming to save us. “You have to ensure that your sovereign lifestyle is guaranteed. And the only person you know that can do that is you.”
