Trezor, a leading manufacturer of hardware wallets for cryptocurrencies, has unveiled its latest product, the Trezor Safe 5, during the #BTCPrague conference. The announcement, made by Trezor CEO Matej Zak on the main stage, showcased the device's cutting-edge features designed to provide cryptocurrency users with an unparalleled level of security and user-friendliness.

The Trezor Safe 5 boasts a vibrant color touchscreen and tactile feedback powered by the Trezor Touch haptic engine, offering an intuitive and easy-to-navigate user experience. The device is built on a decade of open-source security and privacy development, ensuring a reliable foundation for safeguarding users' cryptocurrency assets.

To protect against both online and offline threats, the Trezor Safe 5 employs the NDA-free EAL 6+ Secure Element, along with PIN and passphrase protection. The device also introduces an enhanced 20-word wallet backup standard, allowing users to seamlessly transition from a Standard Single-share Backup to an Advanced Multi-share Backup, further enhancing wallet recovery protection with additional security measures.

The Trezor Safe 5 integrates seamlessly with the complete Trezor ecosystem, which includes user-friendly desktop and mobile apps, simplifying tasks such as buying, selling, and exchanging cryptocurrencies. Users also have access to a wide array of third-party services, enabling them to tailor their cryptocurrency experience to their individual preferences and requirements.

The device features a 1.54" color display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels, protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla® Glass 3. It connects via USB-C and includes a MicroSD card slot for additional functionality. The Trezor Safe 5 is designed to be compact and lightweight, measuring 65.9 x 40 x 8 mm and weighing just 23 grams.

In addition to its advanced security features, the Trezor Safe 5 also prioritizes user privacy. It offers coin control features to increase privacy and supports the use of Tor to protect user identity. The device also supports two-factor authentication and the FIDO2 standard for secure authentication.

The Trezor Safe 5 is CE and RoHS certified, meeting all quality, reliability, and environmental standards. It is constructed from durable PMMA plastic with a hidden-tilt effect, tamper-evident casing, anodized aluminium backplates, precise buttons, and intricate laser engraving.

The Trezor Safe 5 package includes the hardware wallet itself, a USB-C to USB-C cable, two 20-word wallet backup cards, a start-up guide, and Trezor stickers.
